Nupla Certified Non-Conductive Tools

Now available at  http://www.worldtools.com.  Nupla certified non-conductive tools give you protection from accidental high voltage contact.

Nupla Non-Conductive Round Point ShovelNupla Corporation was founded in 1938 by J. Allen Carmien.  Among his many inventions was  as new method of making fiberglass tool handles called “Pultrusion”:  Fiberglass  fibers are pulled through a resin, followed by a performing system and into a heated die, where the resin undergoes polymerization.

With pultrusion, fiberglass fibers run the entire length of a handle.  In the case of  a “miss-blow”, only a few fibers are cut and the handle retains its structural integrity.

Our new line of certified non-conductive tools introduces a new innovation in safety.  All of our certified non-conductive tools have been tested at 10,000 volts to meet or exceed IEC 60900 and ASTM F1505 standards.

Our non-conductive fiberglass handles are manufactured in Safety Orange for easy identification.  The handles are marked with the 1000V double diamond mark.

Recently a customer asked a very good question.  If your tools are tested to 10,000 volts, why are the handles marked “1000V”?

The answer is this:  the same standards that mandate testing of our tools to 10,000 volts also stipulate that we must mark “1000V” on the tools.

What this means for you as our customer is that there is at least a 10:1 safety factor designed into our tools.
